Dr Elena Jackson
Endocrinologist & General Physician BMedSci MBBS (Hons) FRACP
Dr Elena Jackson graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours in 2008.
Elena completed Basic Physician Training at the Austin and Northern Hospitals in Melbourne, and Advanced Training in Endocrinology and Acute & General Medicine at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Peninsula Health in Melbourne. Elena holds accreditation at both Hobart Private and Calvary Private Hospitals, and maintains close links with the Endocrinology Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Elena’s previous employment includes as a Consultant General Physician and Endocrinologist at Peninsula Health in Melbourne 2018-2019. She has previously held an appointment as a clinical lecturer with the School of Medicine, University of Tasmania.
Skills and Expertise
Elena practices in both General Endocrinology and Diabetes. She also holds qualifications in Specialist Adult Acute & General (Internal) Medicine.
Elena has a particular academic interest in Endocrine tumours, having previously trained and undertaken research in this area whilst working at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Elena’s research has been presented at conferences and published in international journals, and continues to be referenced at major Endocrine conferences by leading clinicians in the field.
Elena maintains an interest in improving the patient experience and service delivery in health facilities and has been part of several related hospital initiatives and working groups, also presenting research at national conferences in this field.
