Dr Georgie Stilwell
Endocrinologist MBBS FRACP
After finishing school Dr Georgie Stilwell completed a Bachelor of Music at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music (Piano major). She then lived, worked and travelled overseas, particularly in France. After her return to Australia, having decided to study medicine, she was accepted into the University of Queensland’s Graduate Medical Course. She graduated in 2001.
Dr Stilwell completed her Royal Australasian College of Physicians training in Endocrinology at the Royal Hobart Hospital where endocrinologists are recognised nationally and internationally as diagnosing and managing very rare and specialised, as well as common endocrine disorders.
Skills and Expertise
Dr Georgie Stilwell has been in private practice since early 2011. Her particular areas of interest are thyroid disease and Obstetric endocrinology. Her research in this area has been published in highly respected international journals including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. In addition to her private practice, she has a VMO position at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
At the Royal she treats patients in the Thyroid Clinic, Thyroid Neoplasia Clinic, and in the Obstetric-Endocrine clinic as required. Georgie is also a Senior Lecturer within the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania.
